Animal print como acessório! / Animal print as accessories

Note: This post is bilingual, English translation at the bottom half.

I confess that I suggested this theme, because I find animal print very feminine!

But eventhough I like it, I don't think it's easy to come up with a look on this theme, mostly because animal print is really eye catching; so, my advice is to be cautious when you want to wear animal look, try to wear monocolor pieces along with some animal print: this way you can't be wrong!

This week I didn't have the time to really think about my day look, I've been working a lot, and I couldn't borrow anything from my friends...

Therefore, my look today got mixed with last week's theme: accessories.

Visual felino / Feline Look

PS. This post is bilingual and the English version is in Italics.

When I think about Animal Print, soon comes to my mind the felines I so much love: lion, tiger, panter. So I recalled that I had a pretty styletto, but as soon as I thought about wearing it for my look I realised it'd be difficult to go to work with them on my feet. So I decided to think a little more about my look today.
And it was easier than I thought. I found this blouse that I wore a lot last year, and is suitable for this first autumm days.

Here's my animal print!!!

This week's guest is Vica's friend Isabel, who loves animal print and red lips!

Dress: I bought at a shop called Lenart's. The tag says Cotton Colors, and this must be a fashion brand from Bom Retiro (a well known neighbourhood in São Paulo, where you can find cheap clothes) | Belt: Rabusch | Boots: Arezzo | Bag: Datelli | Earrings: Morana

Quem é você? (Breve descrição, nome, profissão, idade...) / Who are you? (Just a brief description, name, profession, age...)
Isabel. Uma pessoa cheia de contradições e circunstâncias.
Isabel. A person full of contradictions and circumstances.

Qual seu estilo? / How do you define your style?
Cafona! Kitsch!

How do you buy clothes/shoes/accessories?
Primeiro, a peça precisa chamar a minha atenção.

First, the piece must call my attention. Second, it has to fit and have at least a little bit of good quality. Third, it's gotta be something I can wear (I mean, regarding my job etc, context). Above all, it gotta fit my pocket. You see, Armani makes good suits, that call my attention, could fit my body, have unquestionable quality and are very wearable in my context, but they are completely out of my budget.

Qual a última peça que comprou? / What is the last thing you bought?

Black riding boots, so I can survive the winter. I wear those kind of boots all winter, part of autumm and also during a part of spring, because I live in Porto Alegre, this city at the southern Brazil, that has very humid winters. My riding boots from last year have been to the cobbler 3 times already (I'm not sure if I'm some kind of tap dance oger that destroy boots or if it's the quality of the boots I should wonder about).

What do you think about spending a year without shopping?

A year without buying is an exercise of wisdom and economy. It must be pretty hard, just by knowing that you can't buy must make you more eager to buy. I'm certain these girls will end this year with money on their pockets for future projects and full of fashion knowledge. Keep up, girls!

Outfit of the Day: Animal Print / Look do dia: Estampa de Oncinha

Of all the 300 plus items inside my wardrobe, only two were animal print. One, a cute little pink leopard scarf from ModCloth, something I was happy to find last year, after more than two winters searching for the perfect leopard scarf. But I didn't wear it for my look of the day. I tried, trust me. But the weather is too warm to wear it around my neck, and the length of the scarf is too short to try to make it into a shirt or skirt.

So that lead me to the other item I had in my wardrobe, a leopard print dress that I bought for a Halloween party years and years ago... But when it actually came the time to wear it to the party, I thought the dress was way too revealing in the top for me to be able to pull it off. Cleavages everywhere. Not my style. So mostly, it sits in my closet, waiting for a summer day when I'm at the beach, the only appropriate place I can think of to wear that dress.

Well, that or Vegas.

But for today's post, I got the dress out of my wardrobe, intent on not only accomplishing the challenge, but also to show I could wear that cleavage monster to work. Yup, my most revealing dress ever, and I'll wear it to work.

As a skirt!

I folded the top inside, found a big belt and kept everything in place with it. I added a simple black tee, booties, and a geometric necklace to make it all work, and to tone down all that leopard craziness going on on my bottom half. To finish it all off, my go-to Express blazer that makes any outfit work appropriate, and a very basic make up, so no one gets any ideas about me working anywhere else but an office.

Dress (used as a skirt): Forever 21 | Belt: Urban Outfitters | T-Shirt: Express | Necklaces: Ebay and Gift |
Booties: Forever 21 | Blazer: Express (seen here before)

[PT]

Blazer Zara | T-shirt Threadless | Jeans Bob Hall | Shoes Beirario | Bracelet I bought at Renner

This week's theme is tough. It's a beloved thing amongst all fashionistas, but as I'm not such kind of person... I got nothing, nothing at all that could even resemble ANIMAL PRINT. So as a joke I'm wearing this t-shirt that has a lion printed on it. Can that be animal print? Please say yes.

I know that this outfit is more appropriate for the t-shirt week, but I really have nothing, nothing at all that is animal print. And I didn't have the time to borrow something from Isabel, my friend who's gonna be our guest this week.

Remember the necklace?

I swear: I got nothing. Nothing at all.

So I hope you like this look.

Accessories rule!

Note: This post is bilingual, English translation at the bottom half.

Acessórios, para mim, sao tao importantes quanto a roupa escolhida para compor o visual. Eles dão o toque final do look.

[EN]

Accessories for me are just as important as choosing clothes when you're creating a look. They help finalize your outfit.

Since I have a lot of neutral clothes, I end up wearing accessories daily. And I have to admit, as I write this, I asked myself why do I have so many neutral pieces, with no prints or appliques or anything. I think it's because I like the accessories to "up" the look.

For today's outfit, I chose the most basic clothes of them all: jeans and white t-shirt (I didn't have time to take a "before" picture like Anita did), and I finished the look with pearl and red accessories. And yes, my lovely hat that I bought on the one day we could, could not have been left off.

The shoes and the purse are also accessories, and the chosen ones are my favorites, especially the shoes.

And to finish my post, a series of images I got from the internet, to inspire your weekend.

Guest blogger/ Leitora Convidada: Ane Meira - Um par de óculos, muito estilo / A pair of glasses, a lot of style

Note: This post is bilingual, English translation at the bottom half.

I wanted to be part of the week dedicated to the navy theme, as I work in a yacht club and would freak out at the photoshoot, but Vica proposed me the accessories week, and voilá, I found myself full of tips and things to talk about. I chose to talk about glasses.

I wear glasses since I was 12 years and because I really wanted to use. It was very nerdy and there was no better accessory to complete the personality of an intellectual than a good pair of glasses. Yes, I was a little prig. The lack of vision that I had was not a big deal, but with 0.5 degrees I was totally ready to have a nice frame on my nose. I love it still today.

I confess that now I sometimes wear contact lenses, but I like it, hell to wear glasses. Glasses for me is much more than a pair of corrective lenses, they're a fashion accessory. And my collection is varied because of that.

I use them based on the day, clothing, humor, if they'll match my clothes or not. Some frames I use a lot, some I wear just sometimes. If I wear makeup, I choose a transparent one. If I use red lipstick, I go out with matching red glasses. Use a thicker one when I'm more introspective, if I'm happier I choose a colorful one. And I rarely wear sunglasses!

And do not think I go out buying several frames. If I buy, I choose the most beautiful and inexpensive. Some I got as gifts, some I even bought  some from friends who also wear glasses, but got a little tired of theirs, and I also like vintage shops. Not all frames used are reusable, who will tell you this is the shop you take them to get your lenses done. So if you wear glasses, do not make them enemies, make them your allies.

Who are you?
A goddess, a mad witch: Ane Meira. Journalist, necessária, 30 years old, very happy!

What is your style?
Silly merry absurdist. Kkkkkk, I'm kidding. My style is in what I am, what's on the outside is a consequence. Whatever I wear, I'll be wearing glasses, lipstick, necklaces and a good laugh. But I can't define it.

What's your process for shopping for clothes/shoes/accessories?
Beautiful, nice and cheap. I'm very economical and controlled, but sometimes lose my selfcontrol and then I regret.

What is the last piece you bought?
A pair of glitter sneakers. It was this monday.

What do you think about not shopping for a year?

Madness. I admit I couldn't do it and I admire these girls so deeply!

This week's theme is really out of my comfort zone. I mean, I own plenty of accessories, but to try to create a look around them was pretty tough. I thought I'd start with something really basic, and this t-shirt dress is probably the most basic thing I own (I mean it on a good way, okay?).

T-Shirt Dress: American Apparel

It's been windy, cloudy, and rainy all weekend, so I figured there isn't really much I can do to glamorize this outfit, I wanted instead to just be comfy and warm. So I picked this hat, one of my old favorites, that is great to wear when it's raining to keep my hair from going all crazy! I even tried a discreet print mixing, with the scarf, jacket, skirt and boots. All very small prints and all in shades of black and red. I thought this would help make the outfit a bit more cheerful.

Hat: Nine West (seen here before) | Scarf: Loft | Coat: Ben Sherman | Belt: Ruche |
Skirt: No idea (via Nordstrom Rack) | Boots: No idea (via Ideeli)

Earrings: Gift

Bracelets and Ring: Forever 21 and Loft

[PT]

Accessories are my weak point / Acessórios são meu ponto fraco

You'll read the title and think I've got lots of them. But I don't. This week's theme is accessories and I'm not very used to accessorizing.

So I followed Anita's suggestion, and came up with this look, wearing the dress and belt that I bought on feb 29th, some high heels that you've seen before and earrings I got from a friend a long time ago.

I'm always with the same purse, which for now is the black one you've seen here, so I didn't photograph it. And excuse me for not showing my face, but I'm not feeling well today and my face looks awful. Hope you like the look!
