Yes, you are looking at another one of my creations! This time I used a pattern from Colette Patterns, the Macaron dress. The pattern in those colors are just true perfection! I rushed to finish it before Valentine's Day, so I could wear it on this date! Last year I also DIY-ed something for Valentine's Day, not quite this complex, but I think I'll keep up this tradition now.

This week was valentine's week in Brazil (our Valentine's is June 12), so our natural theme was a romantic look.
I had a very busy week and because of work, I spent Valentine's away from my valentine, as I had to travel to the other side of the country (Maceió/AL), where I worked like a hog for 2 days (June 12 and 13). It was really tiring (almost 14 hours on a plane back and forth) and thus, my boyfriend and I didn't have our romantic night. We met on June 12, 2009, and this is a special date for us. =(
We got one another gifts and had a special dinner to celebrate on this friday night.
But what's the secret to love? According to this couple who's been married for the past SIXTY FOUR years: matching clothes! I found that so funny, that I asked my boyfriend to join me in a little game: match our clothes for tonight's dinner! We had planned a winter look, but weather here is totally crazy and then we just tried to dress both in blue, I hope you like our looks.

Essa foi a semana dos namorados no Brasil, então nosso tema natural foi um look romântico.
Tive uma semana ocupadíssima e por causa do meu trabalho, passei o dia dos namorados longe do meu namorado, porque tive de ir pro outro lado do país (Maceió/AL), onde eu trabalhei feito um cavalo por 2 dias (12 e 13 de junho). Foi super cansativo (praticamente 14 horas num avião, ida e volta) e, por isso, meu namorado e eu não tivemos nossa noite romântica. Nos conhecemos no dia 12 de junho de 2009, então essa data é especial para nós. =(
Trocamos presentes e tivemos um jantar de celebração nessa sexta à noite.
Mas qual o segredo do amor? De acordo com esse casal, que está junto há SESSENTA E QUATRO anos: combinar as roupas! Achei isso tão engraçado que pedi ao meu namorado que se juntasse a mim numa brincadeira: combinar nossas roupas pro jantar de hoje à noite! Planejamos um look de inverno, mas o tempo aqui é maluco, então apenas tentamos nos vestir os dois de azul. Espero que gostem dos looks!

It was Valentine's Day (sort of) in Brazil yesterday, so this week, Occupy is all about love and romance, including our weekly theme. And to make it even more special, today I invited Mike (stylish boyfriend, and ocasional look-of-the-day photographer for Occupy) to share his look too.
At first look, you may think my choice for this outfit post would fit better at a Harry Potter opening night (I heard that before), and not on a romance week. But that's where you're wrong, my dear reader. This dress is very romantic, and I'll tell you why. This is the dress I was wearing, almost 4 years ago, on the warm summer night that Mike and I started dating. So there you go, very romantic indeed.
Mike's outfit also has a story (albeit, not as exciting): this beautiful dark blue Ben Sherman polo shirt was a gift from his fabulous girlfriend (me), who knows where to find Ben Sherman at a very good price (psst, if you in Salt Lake, the place is Downtown East Basics).
[PT] Já que foi dia dos namorados no Brasil ontem, estamos aproveitando essa semana no Occupy e postando looks românticos! Para incrementar o meu post hoje, chamei o Mike (namorado estiloso e ocasional fotógrafo de look do dia por aqui) para postar o look dele também.
A primeira vista meu look não parece lá muito romântico para essa semana, mas eu prometo que é! Esse vestido é o vestido que eu estava usando, a quase quatro anos atrás, no dia que o Mike e eu começamos a namorar. Então pronto, não tinha nada mais romântico que esse vestido no meu armário!
Já o look do Mike também tem história (mas não tão legal quanto a do meu vestido, hehe). A camisa pólo linda da Ben Sherman que ele está usando foi um presente meu!

Sim!!! Eu sou romântica dos pés à cabeça e, se fosse possível, morreria por amor!
Para mim, o amor deve ser e é a razão de tudo que faço no meu dia a dia. A razão pela qual acordo cedinho e, agora nesse frio terrível dos pampas, fica mais difícil ainda de sair da cama; a razão pela qual trabalhamos, trabalhamos e trabalhamos para guardar um R$ para viajar com o grande amor da nossa vida, para comprar um carro ou uma casa em conjunto com a alma gêmea; ENFIM, o amor é a razão de viver.
E na semana do dia dos namorados, me autorizei a liberar meus sentimentos e aproveitar este post para, mais uma vez, me declarar àquele que é a razão do meu viver: o Thiago.
A nossa história de amor daria, senão um bom livro de romance, no mínimo, uma ótima novela global. Teve muitos encontros e desencontros, amizades e inimizades, certeza e dúvidas e, no final, o principal: muito amor para dar força e ter a certeza de que valia a pena "jogar tudo ao alto" e começar do zero (ou quase lá) ao lado daquela pessoa que fez surgir um sentimento pelo qual eu jamais havia sentido.
Casei - ainda falta a festa (rsrsrsrs), mudei de cidade, troquei de emprego, virei mãe de três filhos cães: Dara, Frederico e Simba, ganhei uma nova família e uma vida cheia de paixão, companheirismo, amizade e felicidade:
Acho que essa deve ser a mensagem principal do DIA DOS NAMORADOS, estar na MODA com os nossos sentimentos, cuidar, cultivar e incentivar o amor próprio e o amor que temos para oferecer para aqueles que consideramos especiais em nossas vidas!

To me, love is the reason for everything I do every day. The reason why I wake up so early, even in these desperately cold mornings. The reason why I work, work, and work, to save some money to travel with the love of my life, to buy a car, or a house with my soul mate... Love is the reason to live.
And in the week of Brazil's Valentine's Day, I took advantage of this blog to share my feelings, and once more, declare my love for the one that is the reason I live: Thiago.
Our love story would make a great novel, or at least, a soap opera. We had plenty of highs and lows, friends and enemies, assurances and doubts, and, at the end, the most important: a lot of love to keep us strong and reassure us that it was all worth to start over by the sude of the person you love.
So I got married (party to follow, lol), moved, changed jobs, got three dogs (Dara, Frederico and Simba), got a new family, and a love-filled life.
I think that should be the main message on a day like Valentine's Day, that our feelings are in, and that we should take care of the love we have for ourselves and for others in our lives.
"Love is only beautiful when we meet someone that makes us the best we could ever be" (Mario Quintana).
Oh yeah, and the fashion part of this post? Colors and subjects we talk abou? Nope, I did not forget about it, and for this post my reason to live accepted be part of this post! I'm sharing some photos from a very romantic moment in our lives, the wedding of my friends Dora and Fernando. My dress was rented just for this occasion, I hope you like it!

Hello, hello, fellow Occupiers! We're again starting the week with an inspiration post, and I've got a feeling this is here to stay. This week will be one full of love and romance, because tomorrow is Valentine's Day in Brazil (well, more like Sweetheart's day). So this week, we're all going to swoon and pine for romantic looks! To get the brain inspired, here are a few looks I created with browsing the sites of our sponsors: Ruche, Sway Chic, and Lime Crime.
1. For a romantic and innocent look, I think dresses in soft colors and flowy fabrics are the way to go. I also thought that keeping the color palette very narrow would be a great way to achieve an ethereal look. Look at all those beautiful pieces from Ruche, can't you see yourself just looking like an angel in one of those? To finish off the look, I'd bet in a Nude lipstick, like the Coquette from Lime Crime.
2. If the pastel/neutral colors are not really your thing, what about going for vintage inspired floral pieces? Add bright accents, to make it more lively and fun. The yellow dress and Cardigan below is from Ruche, the cute yellow bag from Sway Chic, and the Nude nail polish is a recent release from Lime Crime. The second look is an adorable and modern romper from Sway Chic, with accessories from Ruche.
3. Not everyone is a fan of dresses like me, but I think you can still make a kick-ass romantic look with separates. I have two ideas, the first one is super casual, perfect for a date during the day. Those awesome corduroy skinnies are from Ruche, the cute heart top from Sway Chic (but it could totally be a DIY, huh?). Finish off with cute cherry gloss, from Lime Crime. The second look, is super cute: the skirt from Ruche is the central piece, and all other pieces (also from from Ruche, except those cool heels that are from Sway Chic) coordinate with it.
4. All the single ladies will be more concerned about spending this Brazilian's valentine day dancing the night away, so here's a couple of ideas for partying. The first look is entirely from Sway Chic, the lace shorts are just incredible and so chic, especially couples with the sheer white blouse and this statement necklace. I'd keep the make up simple and add a bold eyeliner. The other look is pure gold, the sequin shirt from Ruche will look super cute with the Sway Chic denim skirt. Add some bangles and a bright red lipstick from Lime Crime and you're ready for a night out in town with your besties.

Essa semana vai ser cheia de romance, então fiz algumas montagens com roupas perfeitas para aproveitar essa semana. Eu estou propondo duas idéias: a primeira é esse look super casual, perfeito pra quem vai comemorar o dia dos namorados assistindo um filminho em casa ou passeando os cachorros no parque. A calça skinny cinza é da Ruche, e a regata com o coração é da Sway Chic (mas para quem se inspira, tem um DIY ensinando a fazer uma igual). Para completar, o lipgloss da Lime Crime e o óculos da Ruche. No segundo conjunto, a peça principal é a saia plissada da Ruche, e as outras peças combinando (todas da Ruche, e o sapato é Sway Chic).
4. E as solteiras que não estão nem um pouco preocupadas com looks românticos para agradas o namorado, que tal idéias de looks para aproveitar a noite com as amigas? O primeiro look é todinho da Sway Chic, adorei esses shorts de renda preto, e combinando com a blusa e o colar, ficou perfeito. Só falta um delineador bem preto da Lime Crime e pronto. O segundo look é pra adora brilho, a blusa de lantejoula é da Ruche, e fica bem fofa com a saia jeans da Sway Chic. As pulseiras douradas da Ruche vão ficar lindas com esse look, e com o batom bem vermelho da Lime Crime você está pronta para a balada!
