Happy last month of Occupy! Here's a confession: this weekend I went into two clothing stores and tried some stuff on. On the first store (Urban Outfitters) I tried two peplum shirts and found out peplum is not a trend for me. The second store was Nordstrom Rack (the boyfriend needed some new pants), and I saw a gorgeous red jacket by Calvin Klein and tried it on. I hinted to the boyfriend that that jacket would make an incredible Christmas gift. The amount of money spent? Zero, of course (not even on new pants for the boyfriend). But I'm starting to look around what's in stores, and maybe start to think what will be the first purchase of the new year! 

Moving on to what I actually wore this weekend! The theme is red and blue and this is what I wore!

Feliz último mês de Occupy the Wardrobe! E já que estamos falando nisso, uma confissão: esse final de semana eu experimentei roupas em duas lojas. Na primeira (Urban Outfitters) eu descobri que a moda do peplum não foi feita pra mim. Na segunda (Nordstrom Rack) que só entrei porque o namorado queria ver se achava umas calças novas, eu experimentei e me apaixonei por um casaco vermelho da Calvin Klein, e avisei pro namorado que seria um ótimo presente de natal. Mas saímos os dois das duas lojas de mãos vazias. Mas tenho olhado um pouco mais nas lojas agora, vendo o que tem de legal e o que quero comprar no ano novo!

Mas falando do tema dessa semana, azul e vermelho, espero que tenham gostado das fotos do meu look!

Deep breath, Occupiers... We're less than one month away from the end of our challenge! 11 months are already gone, and no shopping has been made by... well, just me at this point. I'm the only one left who has not shopped, but Vica would have also been at this point today if she hadn't gone and got herself knocked out! :)

It's a little too cold for Caribbean wear / Está meio frio para o Caribe

For our very Caribbean week, it's pretty much close to freezing temperatures around here. So I chose an outfit with warm sand tones, and a dash of turquoise and some blue rocks for a bit more color.

This week I tried something different with my photos. I thought that this one wall in my bedroom was very "Caribbean" like in all its turquoise-ness, so I posed for my pictures there, instead of outside. But, I did have my very big window with a very nice winter morning light to help out. I also played around with the post processing, so today, I'm mostly proud about my photography skills than my fashion proficiency! Hope you all enjoy the pictures.

Para a semana com tema do Caribe, fica complicado investir num modelito mais caribenho quando as temperaturas aqui estão congelantes! Então eu escolhi uma roupa com tons de areia, e uma saia turquesa e algumas pedras azuis para dar um pouco mais de cor ao look.

Esta semana eu tentei algo diferente com minhas fotos. Eu achei que esta parede no meu quarto era mais "Caribe" do que meu costumeiro local para fotos no "quintal" de casa. Mas, claro que com essa janela enorme filtrando uma luz muito agradável nessa manhã de inverno ajudou. Eu também brinquei com elas no photoshop, por isso hoje, eu estou mais orgulhosa de minhas habilidades de fotografia do que o meu look! Espero que gostem das fotos.

Monday Inspiration: Caribbean / Inspiração de Segunda-Feira: Caribe

In lieu of clothes, let's start today's post with pictures of lush sandy beaches and blue oceans... because our theme of the week is the CARIBBEAN! (I feel like I'm announcing a vacation, but sadly none of us are actually going to the Caribbean this week).

Heaven, right? So the inspiration for this week is to mix and match those beautiful shades of blue and sand, and create an outfit that is worthy of the Caribbean! So if you can't make it there this week, we can at least bring the Caribbean to us.

Em vez de roupas, comecei o post de hoje com imagens de praias exuberantes e oceanos azuis... porque o nosso tema da semana é o Caribe! (Eu sinto que estou anunciando um período de férias, mas, infelizmente, nenhum de nós está realmente indo para o Caribe esta semana).

Paraíso, né? Então a inspiração para esta semana é de misturar e combinar esses belos tons de azul e areia, e criar um look que é digno do Caribe! Então, se você não pode ir ao Caribe esta semana, podemos pelo menos trazer o Caribe para nós.

Black, Pink, and Pie / Preto, Rosa e Torta

This weekend I wore 2 different pink and black outfits, trying to get a good opportunity for photos, but alas, it didn't happen. Those were my last minute attempt, took late at night on Monday! I wore this to work yesterday, and we had a pie contest then! So here's a picture of me with my pie (who did not win, but my other pie that I didn't take a picture with, got 3rd place).

Essa semana o post é curtinho porque a minha semana também é curta! Mas tá aí meu look rosa e preto para essa semana (não é uma das minhas combinações de cores preferidas), que eu usei ontem no trabalho e a gente teve um concurso de tortas para a semana de Ação de Graças. Eu tirei 3o lugar, mas não com essa torta da foto, outra.

It certainly felt like Christmas this weekend here in Salt Lake City. I couldn't pass off the opportunity to enjoy some fluffy white snow and take the pictures for my weekly look here for Occupy with all that beauty in the background.

A note on the outfit: I should go on years without shopping more often. I got some amazing gifts this year from my friends that all knew of my challenge, and I loved all of them so much! I don't know if it's because I just am so lucky to have friends with incredible taste, or I'm just so deprived I think everything is wonderful. Pretty sure reason #1 is the real reason though. I have not lost my good taste even though I haven't shopped!

This beautiful dress I'm wearing today is from Forever 21, and a gift from my great friend Dani (who has a small cupcake business in Porto Alegre in case you're interested!). The scarf I'm wearing was also a gift, but a Christmas one a few years ago, from my boss. It looked beautiful as a pop of color with my mostly black outfit.

Realmente parece que o Natal chegou aqui em Salt Lake City esse final de semana. E eu não pude deixar de aproveitar a oportunidade e capturar o meu look do dia com essa paisagem linda ao fundo!

Um comentário sobre o meu look do dia: eu deveria fazer desafios como esse ed passar um ano sem comprar roupa mais frequentemente, ganhei presentes tão incríveis esse ano! Não sei se é porque meus amigos tem muito bom gosto, ou se é porque eu não vejo algo novo a tanto tempo que acho tudo lindo, hehehe! Brincadeira, tenho certeza que a primeira razão é a mais realista. Eu não deixei de ter bom gosto por não estar comprando, então sei que o que ganhei é muito legal. 

Então esse vestido lindo que estou usando no post hoje é da Forever 21, e foi um presente da minha amiga Dani (que recentemente começou a vender as cupcakes dela para o pessoal em Porto Alegre, caso vocês estejam interessados, o contato é esse aqui!). O cachecol que estou usando também foi presente, mas antigo, um Natal alguns anos atrás, presente da minha chefe. Achei que ficou bem legal com esse look quase praticamente todo preto.
