It certainly felt like Christmas this weekend here in Salt Lake City. I couldn't pass off the opportunity to enjoy some fluffy white snow and take the pictures for my weekly look here for Occupy with all that beauty in the background.

A note on the outfit: I should go on years without shopping more often. I got some amazing gifts this year from my friends that all knew of my challenge, and I loved all of them so much! I don't know if it's because I just am so lucky to have friends with incredible taste, or I'm just so deprived I think everything is wonderful. Pretty sure reason #1 is the real reason though. I have not lost my good taste even though I haven't shopped!

This beautiful dress I'm wearing today is from Forever 21, and a gift from my great friend Dani (who has a small cupcake business in Porto Alegre in case you're interested!). The scarf I'm wearing was also a gift, but a Christmas one a few years ago, from my boss. It looked beautiful as a pop of color with my mostly black outfit.

Realmente parece que o Natal chegou aqui em Salt Lake City esse final de semana. E eu não pude deixar de aproveitar a oportunidade e capturar o meu look do dia com essa paisagem linda ao fundo!

Um comentário sobre o meu look do dia: eu deveria fazer desafios como esse ed passar um ano sem comprar roupa mais frequentemente, ganhei presentes tão incríveis esse ano! Não sei se é porque meus amigos tem muito bom gosto, ou se é porque eu não vejo algo novo a tanto tempo que acho tudo lindo, hehehe! Brincadeira, tenho certeza que a primeira razão é a mais realista. Eu não deixei de ter bom gosto por não estar comprando, então sei que o que ganhei é muito legal. 

Então esse vestido lindo que estou usando no post hoje é da Forever 21, e foi um presente da minha amiga Dani (que recentemente começou a vender as cupcakes dela para o pessoal em Porto Alegre, caso vocês estejam interessados, o contato é esse aqui!). O cachecol que estou usando também foi presente, mas antigo, um Natal alguns anos atrás, presente da minha chefe. Achei que ficou bem legal com esse look quase praticamente todo preto.

Para esta semana, o tema é preto e branco, o que nos induz a uma semana com um ar um tanto quanto formal, já que as cores sempre trazem mais leveza e alegria para o visual.

Eu uso diariamente tom preto e/ou branco, mas procuro mesclar o meu look, com cores vivas; seja usando bolsa, colares, brincos ou cinto coloridos.

Assim, o meu look de hoje é branco, preto e, por que não: cinza. Ah, reparem no chapéu! Esta foi a minha compra do dia 29/02!!!

For this week our theme is black and white, which leads to a week with quite formal looks, as colors always bring more light and joy to a look.

I wear something black or white everyday, but I try to add some vivid colors to my look: be it my bag, necklace, earrings or colorful belts.

Wikipedia says that we can call B&W something that has colors that vary from gray to white then to black, in all shades of gray.

Therefore my look today is B&W & gray! Ah, take a look at my hat! It was the only thing I bought on Feb 29th!

O branco e o preto nasceram um para o outro, e nada melhor do que usar uma das combinações preferidas de Coco Chanel em pleno Dia Internacional da Mulher. Claro que ninguém quer ficar parecendo um pinguim, mas a gente precisa concordar que essa combinação é chique (até os pinguinzinhos tem uma certa elegância ... hehehe). Para montar meu look dessa semana, fui buscar alguma referência e encontrei composições lindas e totalmente usáveis.

Estava pensando em algo com um shortinho, já que essa é minha última semana de férias. Achei!!! E vou dizer que adorei o resultado e provavelmente vou usar muito ainda. Quer ver como ficou? Então olha.

Black and white were meant for each other, and there's nothing better than to wear Coco Chanel's favorite combination of colors on International Women's Day. Of course no one wants to look like a penguin, but we have to agree that this is a very chic combination (even the penguins have an elegant air about them). To create my look this week, I went in search of inspiration, and found some very pretty and wearable combinations. 

I was thinking to put something together with shorts, since this is my last week of vacation. And I found it! And I love the results and I'll wear this a lot.

I'm not gonna lie, I was pretty excited for this week's theme challenge. Not only because black is my go-to-color, my safety net, my favorite look... but also because it's the kind of challenge I can excel in. Granted, I didn't use a lot of white in this look (white makes me look fat, therefore I don't own a lot of white) but it's there, in the details. I felt that this look was so chic, and I feel wonderful in it.

Não vou mentir, eu estava super empolgada com o tema dessa semana. Não só porque preto é a minha cor preferida, mas também porque esse é o tipo de tema que eu me dou muito bem. Claro, eu acabei usando mais preto do que branco no meu look (mas branco me deixa gorda, então eu não tenho quase nada em branco), mas os meus detalhes favoritos do look tem branco neles. Eu me senti super bem com essa roupa.

I love this theme so much, I'm sharing two looks (same shirt and shoes!) this week. This is what I wore this weekend to go see Rock of Ages at the Kingsbury Hall. I was trying to go for a slightly 80s inspired look, but yeah, I didn't really made it quite there. And this is about as big as I can make my hair look. 

E como gostei muito desse tema, vou dividir outro look parecido com vocês: a mesma camisa e sapato, mas dessa vez combinados com calça e acessórios dourados! Usei essa roupa para ir ao teatro no final de semana, e eu queria um look mais ou menos inspirado nos anos 80. Não ficou bem anos 80, mas rolou uma inspiraçao (na minha cabeça pelo menos).

But mostly, I was also trying to challenge myself to create a nice polished look to go out, but with pants instead of dresses. I always go straight for the dresses when I want to dress up, but I wanted to try to make something cool with just a simple old pair of jeans. I think I got an A for this one. And it makes me look ridiculously skinny. 

Eu queria mesmo era tentar criar um look arrumadinho para sair usando calça, já que esse é um dos meus pontos fracos. Eu sempre opto por vestidos. Mas eu gostei muito dessa combinação, fiquei super magrinha com essa roupa, e consegui nota 10 para um look para a night com calça!

Of course I had to end this post with a Black and White shot. E claro que eu tinha que terminar esse post com uma foto em preto e branco!
