E começa o desafio! / And the challenge begins!

Feliz Ano Novo e Feliz Occupy the Wardrobe! Começamos hoje o desafio, e ai ai, suando frio! Mas para brindar o novo ano e marcar essa virada com estilo, já que 2012 promete ser um ano criativo, escolhi esse vestido maxi da RaVon com um top de lantejoula (Ebay) para começar o ano (o namorado veste calça e camisa da Express, sweater da J.Crew e gravata Penguin).

Não vou mentir, estou empolgadíssima com o nosso desafio, mas ao mesmo tempo com um friozinho na barriga. Será que vou conseguir ficar um ano sem fazer compras e não enlouquecer? O desafio mesmo é ser criativa com o que tenho no armário (e de vez em quando me aproveitar dos armários alheios, ou até rolando um DIY de vez em quando). Então eu resolvi que para dar uma forcinha a criatividade, eu vou criar desafios mensais (ou semanais) para mim mesma (só eu, as outras gurias não tem que participar). Por exemplo:

• Não vou repetir look do dia até o final de Janeiro quando viajo (já que viajo no finzinho do mês, achei que era sacanagem fazer o desafio durar durante a viagem, já que gosto de viajar com bem pouca coisa e repito roupa direto, então só os primeiros 26 dias que contam).

A pegadinha do desafio é a seguinte: Janeiro é um dos meses mais frios aqui em Salt Lake, um mês em que eu historicamente só uso as mesmas 4 peças todos os dias: calça jeans, bota de neve, cashmere e meu casacão de neve. Como só tenho UM casaco de neve, esse vale repetir todo dia. E gorrinho tenho poucos, mas vou tentar não repeti-los tb. E sapato também posso repetir de vez em quando, afinal, não tenho 26 pares de sapatos apropriados para enfrentar a neve. Na real só devo ter uns 5, mas vou tentar colocar um parzinho mais arrumadinho na bolsa para variar de sapato um pouco mais. Mas a roupa mesmo, essa não vou repetir. E para me manter honesta, depois que eu usar já ponho direto pra lavar e depois de lavada vão para um local separado no armário. Então, 26 looks diferentes nesse invernão? Pois é, eu sou meio masoquista.

Happy New Year and Happy Occupy the Wardrobe! We start the challenge today, and oh boy! To start the new year right, specially one that promises to be so creative, I chose to wear this maxi dress by  RaVon with a gold top underneath (Ebay). The boyfriend wears pants and shirt from Express, sweater from J.Crew and a Penguin tie. 

I'm not gonna lie, I'm a mixture of super excited and dreading this challenge. Can I go an entire year without shopping and without losing my mind? It's been done before, so I'll trust myself and dive in. To get the creative juices flowing, I thought I'd add an extra layer of challenge to myself every month or week (just me, the other girls don't need to follow this). For example:

• I shall not wear the same outfit twice till January 26th (the date was picked because I'm leaving on a trip on the 27th, and I pack light, so it would be kind of mean to impose this challenge on myself when I'm traveling, that's why the challenge ends on the 26th).

The catch is the following: January is one of the coldest months of the year here in Salt Lake, and I'm known for spending the entire month of January wearing the basic same outfit: jeans, snow boots, cashmere sweater and big winter jacket. Since I only have ONE winter jacket, that one is okay to repeat every day, okay? I do not want to freeze. I don't have many beanies, but I'll try not to repeat them too. And shoes are also okay to repeat a few times, after all, I do not own 26 pairs of shoes, let alone 26 pairs of snow boots! I'll try to add some variety by taking a pair of not-winter shoes to work in my bag. But the actual outfit, no repeating. To keep me honest, after every use I'll throw the outfit in the laundry pile and after washed, in a special part of my closet dedicated to all the clothes I've used already. So, 26 different looks in the middle of the winter? Yup, I'm a masochist.
