Happy last month of Occupy! Here's a confession: this weekend I went into two clothing stores and tried some stuff on. On the first store (Urban Outfitters) I tried two peplum shirts and found out peplum is not a trend for me. The second store was Nordstrom Rack (the boyfriend needed some new pants), and I saw a gorgeous red jacket by Calvin Klein and tried it on. I hinted to the boyfriend that that jacket would make an incredible Christmas gift. The amount of money spent? Zero, of course (not even on new pants for the boyfriend). But I'm starting to look around what's in stores, and maybe start to think what will be the first purchase of the new year! 

Moving on to what I actually wore this weekend! The theme is red and blue and this is what I wore!

Feliz último mês de Occupy the Wardrobe! E já que estamos falando nisso, uma confissão: esse final de semana eu experimentei roupas em duas lojas. Na primeira (Urban Outfitters) eu descobri que a moda do peplum não foi feita pra mim. Na segunda (Nordstrom Rack) que só entrei porque o namorado queria ver se achava umas calças novas, eu experimentei e me apaixonei por um casaco vermelho da Calvin Klein, e avisei pro namorado que seria um ótimo presente de natal. Mas saímos os dois das duas lojas de mãos vazias. Mas tenho olhado um pouco mais nas lojas agora, vendo o que tem de legal e o que quero comprar no ano novo!

Mas falando do tema dessa semana, azul e vermelho, espero que tenham gostado das fotos do meu look!

Deep breath, Occupiers... We're less than one month away from the end of our challenge! 11 months are already gone, and no shopping has been made by... well, just me at this point. I'm the only one left who has not shopped, but Vica would have also been at this point today if she hadn't gone and got herself knocked out! :)

Red and Black / Preto e Vermelho

Oh hello. I know we have no theme this week, but how funny that I just realize that I ended up wearing the same color combination as Michele wore on Tuesday: black and red. But who can blame me, it is one of my favorite combos. I'm known to wear a lot of black, even in the summer, and for dinner the other night, I wanted to wear something simple. This outfit was the perfect choice.

Eu sei que o tema da semana é livre, mas sem querer eu acabei escolhendo as mesmas cores que a Michele usou essa semana: preto e vermelho. Mas é uma boa combinação, não acham? Eu uso bastante preto, e para jantar essa semana, eu queria algo bem simples mas também elegante, que desse pra ir do trabalho pro restaurante e estar bem vestida pra tudo.

Oh I just love this week's theme! I'm feeling like Audrey Hepburn herself! LOL

I was sad because it had been strangely hot for this time of the year here, but then the cold came back and I was able to wear the outfit I had planned: Bold colored outerwear! And a little black dress, of course!

And today I was lucky to have my friend Cris take my pictures, so, apart from my hair disaster (I tried to curl it using a sock bun, total fail), everything went just fine. I hope you like this look as much as I do!

Estava meio *shatiada* por causa do calor fora de época, mas o frio voltou e eu consegui fazer o look que tinha planejado: casaco em cor forte! E o vestidinho preto, claro!

Blue is the color of this week. Some say blue is sad, and some say something's blue when something's good. I like this color, I think it brings peace and harmony. So, don't worry, everything's gonna be alright!

For this week's look I chose blue and red. It's kinda cold here, so nothing better to team up with my blue blouse, blue dress (used here as a skirt) and blue scarf then a red fleece coat. The shoes were bought at H&M in 2009 and thanks to my sister-in-law are back on my feet! (They needed repairing and she was kind enough of taking them to a repair place she knows).

I've had this scarf for a very long time... it was a gift from my mom but I never wore it, until today!

Azul é a cor dessa semana. Umas pessoas dizem que azul é triste, outras dizem que algo é azul quando é uma coisa boa. Eu gosto dessa cor, acho que traz paz e harmonia. Então, não se preocupe: tudo vai dar certo!

Pro look dessa semana escolhi azul e vermelho. Está meio frio por aqui, então nada melhor para acompanhar minha blusa azul, vestido azul (usado aqui como saia) e lenço azul do que esse casaco de flanela vermelha. Os sapatos foram comprados na H&M em 2009 e graças à minha cunhada estão de volta aos meus pés! (Eles precisavam de conserto e ela fez a gentileza de levá-los ao sapateiro por mim).

Tenho esse lenço há muito tempo... foi presente da minha mãe e eu nunca tinha usado, até hoje!

Não lembro exatamente quando comprei essa blusa, mas sei exatamente porque comprei: pela cor. Vermelho é minha cor preferida, e eu, adolescente, com dinheiro na mão, seria difícil resistir a uma blusa nessa cor. Sim, tenho essa blusa desde a adolescência. Como disse antes, não lembro quando comprei. Deve ter sido em torno de 1998, pois lembro de usá-la aos sábados para fazer prova no colégio.

E mesmo depois de 14 anos, minha blusa é usável e para várias ocasiões, até mesmo trabalho. Inclusive, ia usar essa blusa para ir trabalhar, mas o clima Rio 40 graus complica um pouco. Vesti a blusa, tirei as fotos, e troquei por outra (vou ficar devendo as fotos, estava atrasada). 

Vou esperar o calor ir embora, e usar para ir trabalhar. Aliás, acho esse tipo de blusa ideal para quem trabalha em lugares mais sérios, mas quer ser um pouco divertida.

I don't remember exactly when I bougth this shirt, but I know why I did it: because of the color. Red is my favorite color, and it was hard for my teen self not to buy it. Yes, I've had this t-shirt since when I was a teenager. As I said before, I don't remember when I bougth it. Probably in 1998, because I remember going to high school wearing it. 

Even after 14 years, I still wear it, and in different situations, such as for going to work. Also, I should wear it to go to work, but with this Rio 40 graus hot, this was kinda hard. I wore the t-shirt, took the pictures, and wore another (sorry, but no pictures this time). 

I'll wait for winter to wear it again to go to work. By the way, I think this shirt is perfect for someone who needs to be formal at work, but wants to have a little bit of fun.

I read somewhere: you're freerer than you think. 

I'm thinking about this as these past weeks have been tough on me. Shops all around are on sale now but I simply forgot about shopping for clothes, as I've got other things on my mind. But yeah, maybe, in regarding to shopping, we are actually freerer than we think. We don't need to consume so much, that's for sure.

So my fellow occupiers have other things on their minds, as unfortunetely Michele's father is at the hospital now. He's stable I guess, and we'll be fine, but she, for sure, is completely worried and out of her mind these days. Let's pray that everything turn out fine for them. 

This week was free theme. So I didn't have to think much about what to wear today. I went for something light, because it's been very hot here. Also because I want to feel lighter than I currently do.

I'm not gonna say what's wrong, but there's something (or maybe somethings) wrong in my life right now and I got figure things out. 

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to Feb 29th, our only shopping day of the year (read the rules). 

Also, I'm sharing a look I wore the other night, my boyfriend and I went on a romantic dinner and I had this dress that I bought at the japanese neighbourhood in São Paulo a long time ago and had never worn it. As it was a special occasion, I decided to give it a try and I think it looks beautiful. 

And I have to tell you that was on television this week! I was interviewed for a local news, about online shopping. It's in Portuguese, but you'll be able to see Occupy the Wardrobe on screen!

Li em algum lugar: você é mais livre do que pensa. 

Tenho pensado nisso porque essas últimas semanas foram duras comigo. As lojas em todos os lugares estão em liquidação agora, mas eu simplesmente esqueci tudo o que se refere a compras, porque tenho outras coisas em mente. Mas sim, talvez, no que diz respeito a comprar, nós realmente sejamos mais livres do que pensamos. Não precisamos consumir tanto, isso é certo.

Minhas amigas de Occupy também têm outras coisas em mente: infelizmente o pai da Mi está no hospital agora. Acho que o quadro dele é estável, e que ele vai ficar bem, mas ela, claro, está totalmente preocupada e fora de si por esses dias. Vamos rezar pra que tudo dê certo para os dois. 

Essa semana era a semana do tema livre. Então não tive que pensar muito sobre o que vestir hoje. Quis algo leve, porque tem feito muito calor aqui. E também porque eu quero algo mais leve do que meu estado de espírito. 

Não vou dizer o que está errado, mas há algo (ou algos) errado na minha vida agora e eu tenho que resolver algumas coisas. 

Enfim, de qualquer maneira, estou ansiosa pelo 29 de fevereiro, nosso único dia de compras no ano (leia as regras). 

Além disso, vou mostrar o look da outra noite, meu namorado e eu fomos a um jantar romântico e eu tinha esse vestido que eu comprei na Liberdade, em São Paulo, que eu nunca tinha usado. Como a ocasião era especial, decidi experimentar e acho que ficou bonito. 

E também tenho que contar pra vocês que eu apareci na televisão essa semana! Fui entrevistada para o RBS Notícias, o jornal local, sobre compras pela internet. O Occupy the Wardrobe deu as caras na entrevista!
