When Anita asked me to be a guest blogger on Occupy Wardrobe I was over the moon. I have been following this blog since Anita first told me about it back before the new year even began. Although I did not have the same new years resolution as these bloggers, I decided to build the featured outfit from pieces I bought before 2012 began so as to somewhat stick to the theme.

The outfit I came up with is something that I would normally wear to work &/or class during the late spring & summer months. This entire look was based off of the bright blue skirt (a Forever 21 hand-me-down from my cousin Gabriella) since I loved how bright it was. From there I added a Forever21 sweater that I had borrowed from my cousin Nicole & a bright green Banana Republic cardigan I picked up last summer while shopping at the outlets in Florida. I finished off the look with a pair of striped Banana Republic trouser socks since the adorable Aldo heels were still too warm-weather for SLC at the time. Finally, I added on my go-to Anne Klein watch, favorite earrings, & ring (all past birthday/graduation gifts).

Who are you? My name is Lia & I am a 19 year old Communication major with an emphasis in Public Relations & minor in business at Westminster College of Salt Lake City, UT.

How would you describe your style? I would describe my style as being extremely girly & definitely preppy. I like to wear bright light-weight pieces in the summer, black/grey/ballet pink slouchy pieces in the winter, & prints year round. I believe that the most important part of any outfit is ensuring that the pieces fit your body perfectly. A great tailor can make any thrift store find look like a million bucks.

How is your shopping process like? I am a sucker for a good deal, which is why I buy most of my clothes online (it's easier to find deals from multiple places this way). I also love scouring thrift stores on the weekends with my best friend. Something I've learned over the years is to invest in expensive quality items that you can pair with every outfit, then accessorize & layer with cheaper finds.

What was the last thing you bought? Black Cheyenne Coach Riding Boots from Macy's - best buy I've made all year! I pair them with black leggings & big sweaters, skinny jeans & tshirts, & knee-length dresses.

What do you think about going a year without shopping? I think you girls are crazy! I could never go a year - let alone a month - without shopping. Although I know my bank account would love me for it...

Quando a Anita me convidou para escrever um post para o Occupy the Wardrobe, eu fiquei super empolgada. Eu tenho seguido o blog desde que a Anita me contou sobre ele no final do ano passado. Mesmo que eu não tenha feito a mesma resolução de ano novo que as gurias do Occupy, eu resolvi usar um look hoje só com peças que eu comprei antes de 2012. 

O look que eu escolhi é algo que eu uso com frequência para o trabalho ou para aula, no final da Primavera e durante o verão. O look inteiro foi composto a partir da saia azul da Forever 21 (a saia foi um desapego da minha prima Gabriella) que eu adoro por ser bem colorida. A partir dai eu adicionei esse sweater listrado da Forever 21 que eu peguei emprestado da minha prima Nicole, e o cardigan verde limão eu comprei num outlet da Banana Republic na Florida. E pra terminar, eu escolhi as meias listradas, também da Banana Republic, com um dos meus sapatos preferidos da Aldo. O relógio é da Anne Klein, os brincos são os meus preferidos e o anel (todos foram presentes de aniversário/formatura).

  Quem é você? Meu nome é Lia, e eu tenho 19 anos. Eu estudo Relações Pública e Administração na Westminster College, em Salt Lake City, UT. 
  
  
  Como você descreveria o seu estilo? Eu descreveria meu estilo como bem menininha e arrumadinho. Eu gosto de usar peças bem leves no verão, e preto/cinza/sapatilha no inverno, e estampas o ano todo. Eu acho que a parte mais importante de um look é garantir que todas as peças te sirvam perfeitamente. Uma boa costureira pode fazer qualquer achado em loja de usados parecer que custou um milhão de dólares. 
  
  
  Como é o seu processo de compra? Eu adoro uma boa promoção, e é por isso que eu compro quase todas as minhas roupas pela internet (é mais fácil achar bons preços assim). Eu também adoro procurar roupas em lojas que vendem roupas usadas e antigas. Uma coisa que eu aprendi é que o que vale é investir em peças de qualidade que você pode misturar com outras compras mais baratinhas. 
  
  
  Qual foi a última coisa que você comprou? Botas de montaria na Macy's — melhor compra que fiz no ano! Eu combino ela com leggings e suéteres grandões, skinny jeans, e vestidos. 
  
  
  O que você acha de ficar um ano sem comprar roupa? Eu acho que essas gurias são malucas! Eu nunca conseguiria passar um mês sem comprar, quanto mais um ano. Mas acho que a minha conta bancária me agradeceria se eu fizesse isso....
