I can't help but make the connection to our weekly theme to the "controversial" bestseller Fifty Shades of Grey. No, I haven't read the book, not because people say it's "porn" (because I've read plenty of Nora Robert in my life), but I didn't pick it up mostly because it doesn't sound like a storyline I'd like, it feels like Twilight all over again to me, and I really, really, really hated Twilight.

So, from that intro you probably gathered that our theme this week is the color gray, in any of its 50 shades. I'm a big fan. It's a versatile color in my wardrobe, so a lot of my winter/work wardrobe is gray, which helps me make multiple combinations. It matches just about everything.

To inspire our week, I did a selection of outfits where grey pieces are the star, but matched with other colors. Can't wait to see what all the Occupy girls and their guest will come up with this week.

Não consigo não comparar o nosso tema dessa semana com o controverso livro Cinquenta Tons de Cinza. Eu não li o livro, é só o título mesmo que me lembra o tema da semana, porque não achei a história interessante. Me parece outra série estilo Crepúsculo,  e eu realmente odeio essa história. 

Então acho que já deu pra perceber que o nosso tema essa semana é a cor cinza, e todas as suas cinquenta tonalidades diferentes. Eu sou fã dessa cor, acho versátil, principalmente para o inverno e o ambiente de trabalho. Combina com tudo. 

Para inspirar essa semana, fiz algumas montagens com peças cinzas, mas combinadas com várias cores diferentes. Mal posso esperar para ver o que as gurias do Occupy e convidada vão usar essa semana.

We've been a long way together... through the hard times and the good...

It's for real, isn't it?
Almost 7 months without shopping, I hardly believe! I think the worst is over. It's like detox. First I felt urges, but now I don't really feel like buying. I spend hours looking for clothes on the internet, but then I think it's not something I need, and the will to shop goes away.

For this free week I chose this look: a sweather, jeans and boots. Just simple.

Quase 7 meses sem comprar, mal acredito! Acho que o pior já passou. É tipo um detox. No começo eu tinha esses ataques, queria muito comprar, mas agora não mais. Passo horas olhando roupas na internet, mas aí penso que não é nada que eu precise e a vontade de comprar vai embora.


Pra essa semana livre, eu escolhi esse look: um suéter, jeans e botas. Simples.

Oh hello. I know we have no theme this week, but how funny that I just realize that I ended up wearing the same color combination as Michele wore on Tuesday: black and red. But who can blame me, it is one of my favorite combos. I'm known to wear a lot of black, even in the summer, and for dinner the other night, I wanted to wear something simple. This outfit was the perfect choice.

Eu sei que o tema da semana é livre, mas sem querer eu acabei escolhendo as mesmas cores que a Michele usou essa semana: preto e vermelho. Mas é uma boa combinação, não acham? Eu uso bastante preto, e para jantar essa semana, eu queria algo bem simples mas também elegante, que desse pra ir do trabalho pro restaurante e estar bem vestida pra tudo.

My name is Vanessa Neupmann, I am a  30-something journalist by trade, working in the maritime industry in the New York city area.

My style is professional preppy during the week, and a lover of all things comfy during the weekend. I do love shoes, bags and clothes. My favorite labels are L.K. Bennett, Banana Republic and Express. The latter, because I can find jeans (short, size 0), that fit and don't require alterations.

I buy clothes at least twice a month and mostly work clothes. Usually I leave the house with an outfit in mind. I always pick pieces that match clothes I already own.  I have every color of work pants from Express, and always have a cardigan handy, since regardless the season, the AC in my office is always on. My office is somewhat dressy, and I do wear a lot of black, but always showing a pop of bright color either on my shirts or shoes.

And boy, I love shoes! Have countless pairs (a closet full of them), in every color, style, brand and price. One my favorites is a recent bought pair of Michael Kors wedges. It has a zebra design, and it is suitable to wear at work or play. Louboutins to me, are the Ferrari of shoes!

As far as bags one of my favorite brands is Coach (I found a store at shopping Morumbi, in Sao Paulo during my last visit). I love their designs, and colors.

My last purchase was a pair of ballerina flats bought while I was vacationing in Sao Paulo a couple of weeks ago.

The idea of not buying anything for a year is awesome, however I love a little "retail" therapy when i'm super stressed out (which is always), so no shopping for a whole year would drive me crazy! I applaud those who can do it though!

The jeans on the pic, or "jeggins" are from Express; the bohemian top is from Abercombie & Fitch, the cardigan is from Banana Republic. The gladiator sandals are Ann Klein, bought three seasons ago. The bag is from Louis Vuitton.

Meu nome é Vanessa Neupmann, eu sou jornalista, 30 e poucos anos, trabalhando na indústria marítima na área de cidade de Nova York.

O meu estilo é  formal durante a semana por causa do trabalho, mas amo todas as coisas confortáveis ​​durante o fim de semana. Amo tênis, bolsas e roupas. Meus favoritos são L.K. E nossa, como eu amo sapatos! Tenho inúmeros pares (um armário cheio deles), em todas as cores, estilos, marcas e preços. Um dos meus favoritos é um par de sandálias plaforma da Michael Kors. Têm um design zebra, e é adequado para usar no trabalho ou lazer. Louboutins para mim são a Ferrari de sapatos!

Quanto a bolsas uma das minhas marcas favoritas é a Coach (eu encontrei uma loja no Shopping Morumbi, em São Paulo durante a minha última visita). Eu amo seus desenhos e cores.

Minha última compra foi um par de sapatilhas que adquiri enquanto estava de férias em São Paulo um tempinho atrás.

A idéia de não comprar nada por um ano é incrível, mas eu amo um pouco de terapia de "varejo": quando eu estou super estressada (o que é sempre) eu compro. Ficar um ano sem compras ia me deixar maluca! Mas dou meus parabéns pra quem consegue!

Para a semana de hoje o tema é livre e gostaria muito de ter tido tempo para montar um look diferente para postar hoje, ocorre que aconteceu um "pequeno" probleminha feminino no final de semana....a cabelereira estragou meu cabelo!!! snif! snif!

Pelas fotos que já postei, todas sabem que meu cabelo é escuro e resolvi ficar loira, até aí tudo certo. Me informei, colhi informações e indicações do pessoal da cidade e fui ao salão mais indicado....chegando lá, expliquei que queria ficar loira com mechas bem douradas, neste estilo:

Mas a profissional se passou ou esqueceu o meu pedido de "mechas douradas" e me deixou com mechas champagne, para não dizer brancas:

A minha reação foi SOCORRO!!!!
Acredito que em muitas pessoas fique lindo, mas eu me acho uns 20 anos mais velha com esse tom no cabelo e quando a pessoa está chegando perto dos 30 (como no meu caso), só piora... Resumo: ela tentou, tentou e tentou arrumar...tentou no sábado, tentou no domingo e nada deu certo. Resultado??? Não estou loira! rsrsrsrs....estou com o cabelo com um fundo (talvez) cobre, mechas escuras e completamente ressecado....

Agora, só me resta seguir as dicas da Vica e colocar um tonalizante e encher meus fiozinhos de hidratação!!!

Enfim, com um final de semana tão agitado, não consegui parar para montar o look da semana e na semana do tema livre, mostro para vocês o meu tema de toda segunda, terça, quarta e quinta (na sexta é o nosso Casual Day): preto, vermelho e branco (já contei para vocês que no escritório que eu trabalho são essas as cores exigidas).

Para hoje, num dia de chuva, úmido e não tão frio, estou com uma saia longa, sapato de verniz "boneca", sueter vermelho e um cinto preto para finalizar o look....ah, sim...e o TÃO FALADO CABELO "NOVO":

This week we don't have a specific theme, and I really wish I could have had time to come up with a different look to post here today, except there was a "small" matter this weekend... the hairdresser ruined my hair!!

You've seen from the pictures I post here that I have dark hair, but then I decided to go blond, and so far so good. I got all the information I needed, I asked for referrals, I went to the salon with the best rep... I got there, and explained how I wanted my hair, blond with golden streaks. 

But the hairdresser either forgot what I asked or let the bleach in too long, and instead of golden streaks, I have super white blond streaks. 

My first reaction was HELP! 

I believe this must look great on a lot of people, but on me, it made me look 20 years older, and I'm already nearing my 30s, so... Well, she tried to fix it on Saturday, then on Sunday, and nothing worked. The result? I'm not blond! My hair is a copperish color, dark, and really dry. 

So, with that kind of a weekend, I didn't have time to come up with a fun look for our no-theme weej, so I'll share with you my every-day look: black, red, and white (those colors are the dress code for my office). 

It's a rainy day, humid and not too cold, I'm wearing a long skirt, mary janes, a red sweater, and a black belt to finish the look... except for my ruined hair!

Bom dia, leitores do Occupy! Conseguem adivinhar qual o tema da semana? Não temos um essa semana! De vez em quando é bom dar uma folguinha, e aproveitar para tirar do armario looks que não se encaixam em nenhum tema. 

Para inspirar essa semana livre, escolhi alguns looks de blogueiras e designers que eu curto. No fim, as minhas escolhas foram looks bem minimalisticos, mas mesmo assim com uma carinha mais glamurosa.

This week was valentine's week in Brazil (our Valentine's is June 12), so our natural theme was a romantic look.

I had a very busy week and because of work, I spent Valentine's away from my valentine, as I had to travel to the other side of the country (Maceió/AL), where I worked like a hog for 2 days (June 12 and 13). It was really tiring (almost 14 hours on a plane back and forth) and thus, my boyfriend and I didn't have our romantic night. We met on June 12, 2009, and this is a special date for us. =(

We got one another gifts and had a special dinner to celebrate on this friday night.

But what's the secret to love? According to this couple who's been married for the past SIXTY FOUR years: matching clothes! I found that so funny, that I asked my boyfriend to join me in a little game: match our clothes for tonight's dinner! We had planned a winter look, but weather here is totally crazy and then we just tried to dress both in blue, I hope you like our looks.

Essa foi a semana dos namorados no Brasil, então nosso tema natural foi um look romântico.

Tive uma semana ocupadíssima e por causa do meu trabalho, passei o dia dos namorados longe do meu namorado, porque tive de ir pro outro lado do país (Maceió/AL), onde eu trabalhei feito um cavalo por 2 dias (12 e 13 de junho). Foi super cansativo (praticamente 14 horas num avião, ida e volta) e, por isso, meu namorado e eu não tivemos nossa noite romântica. Nos conhecemos no dia 12 de junho de 2009, então essa data é especial para nós. =(

Trocamos presentes e tivemos um jantar de celebração nessa sexta à noite.

Mas qual o segredo do amor? De acordo com esse casal, que está junto há SESSENTA E QUATRO anos: combinar as roupas! Achei isso tão engraçado que pedi ao meu namorado que se juntasse a mim numa brincadeira: combinar nossas roupas pro jantar de hoje à noite! Planejamos um look de inverno, mas o tempo aqui é maluco, então apenas tentamos nos vestir os dois de azul. Espero que gostem dos looks!
