Warm colors week / Semana das cores quentes

Oh, well, me and my photographic problems again! I really ought to do something about this. Today I couldn't take pictures during the day and all I could come up with are those bad pics I took with my phone (horrible, horrible phone!). When I grow up I wanna be like Anita, she's a girl who plans ahead!

Anyway, it's cold here now and I found out that I don't have many clothes in warm colors (I thought I did, but most are green or black). So I decided to spice up a bit this dark blue suit I have, and I matched it with this sweater from DKNY (I bought on a trip to NYC in 2008) and these shoes I bought at Datelli on feb 29th. Also, I picked the purse my mom gave me which I used here. I hope you like it.

Bom, eu e meus problemas "fotográficos" de novo! Tenho que fazer algo a respeito. Hoje não consegui tirar fotos durante o dia e o melhor que eu pude fazer são essas fotos horríveis tiradas com meu celular. Quando eu crescer, quero ser que nem a Anita, que é uma garota que planeja!

Tá frio por aqui e eu descobri que não tenho muitas roupas em cores quentes (pensei que tinha, mas a maioria é verde ou preta). Então decidi apimentar um pouco esse terninho azul escuro que eu tenho, e combinei com essa blusa de linha da DKNY (comprei em Nova York em 2008) e esses sapatos que comprei na Datelli no dia 29 de fevereiro. Escolhi a bolsa que ganhei da mamy's e que já tinha usado aqui. Espero que vocês gostem!

Oh, well, this week's theme is really a challenge! My God, I spent the whole week thinking about what to wear.  We have a serious problem here at Occupy the Wardrobe and her name is Anita. Yes! It's totally unfair that she gets to post her looks on Mondays and then on Friday I'm completely wasted and out of ideas and with the duty of closing the week! 

Of course, I'm just joking, we all love Anita's looks, they're perfect and inspiring. She says my clothes are better than hers, but I disagree. I love her clothes. It's a pity that we're so far away, otherwise we could swap clothes!

But we'll at least swap days, and I'll get to post on a Monday! lol

Anyway, what the hell is color blocking?! I Googled it, but my Google insists that just because I'm Brazilian, I want results in Portuguese, so I had a hard time finding what I was looking for (I typed, in English, "what is color blocking" and f... Google came up with this).

But I also found this super cute mom-to-be who wrote a simple post on the subject.

And I also found this site that I now love, called The Curvy Fashionista. I guess this one's for me! They have this cool post on the subject of color blocking. And this great post on what to wear to work, being curvy!

Bah, o tema dessa semana é realmente um desafio! Deus meu, passei a semana inteira pensando no que usar! Nós temos um sério problema aqui no Occupy the Wardrobe e ele se chama Anita! Sim! É totalmente injusto que ela poste aqueles looks lindos na segunda-feira e chegue a sexta-feira e eu esteja acabada, totalmente sem idéias e sem ânimo, e tenha que encerrar a semana!

Tô brincando, claro. Todas nós amamos os looks da Anita porque eles são perfeitos e inspiradores! Ela diz que as minhas roupas são melhores do que as dela, mas eu não concordo! Amo as roupas dela! É uma pena que a gente more tão longe, senão podíamos fazer troquinhas.

Mas pelo menos vamos trocar de dias e vai chegar minha vez de postar looks na segunda-feira! hehehe

De qualquer maneira, que porcaria é esse tal de color blocking? Usei o Google, mas ele me sacaneia e acha que só porque sou brasileira eu procuro resultados em português. Deu um trabalhinho pra encontrar o que eu queria (digitei, em inglês, "o que é color blocking?" e a porcaria do Google me veio com isso).


Mas também encontrei essa gravidinha fofa, que escreveu um post bem simples sobre o assunto.


Também encontrei esse site que eu já amo, The Curvy Fashionista (algo como a Amante de moda com curvas), onde tem um post super legal sobre color blocking e outro muito bom sobre roupas pra ir trabalhar para meninas com curvas.


Semana que vem o desafio fica ainda mais difícil: nosso tema será o Carnaval! <o>

Stressful days/ Dias estressantes + Lace Challenge / Desafio da renda

This week was awful. So stressful. And, as I said before, stress leads to a lot of selfdestructive behaviors, such as bingeing and shopping until you blow your credit card limit.
But it was such a rush, I didn't have the time to do those things, eventhough I wish I had.
I told Anita, as a joke, that I was gonna buy a beautiful lace dress for today's look. I actually saw one and went into the shop to ask about the price: R$220 or US$110, more or less. Ouch. Way too expensive.
Well, I didn't overeat, and I didn't buy anything, keeping my oath not to shop for a year.
Lace week is a problem for me, I have few itens that have lace on them. I don't actually have something entirely made of lace (except for lingerie, would you like to see a sexy kinda porn look? lol).
So I really had to go through my wardrobe to find something to wear. And at the bottom I did find something!
Otherwise I would have to do like Mi and borrow from a friend.

I hope you don't mind my tired face, I'm really exhausted from work this week. It was like being on a roller coaster nonstop. It wasn't fun.
But soon we'll have a holiday here and I'll be able to take a few days to rest.
I saw a really inspiring look at Melina's blog, she is wearing lace and the photos are beautiful, check it out.

The look is a tank top with a little lace trim, a skirt with some lace detail, Arezzo high heels, bracelets made by my friend Adri B and a coral Fellipe Krein purse I got from mom, kinda monocolor. I got this tank top and the skirt a long time ago and I don't know the brand. Blue nails are Azul Celeste by Colorama.

Anyway, the challenge continues!

Essa semana foi horrível. Super estressante. E como eu disse antes, stress tende a a nos levar a fazer coisas auto-destrutivas, como comer demais ou ir às compras até estourar o cartão de crédito.
Mas a minha semana foi tão corrida, eu nem tive tempo de fazer qualquer uma dessas coisas, mas eu bem gostaria.
Eu disse para a Anita, de brincadeira, que eu ia comprar um vestido de renda lindo para usar no look de hoje. Na real eu vi um e até entrei na loja para perguntar o preco: R$220. Sem chance, muito caro.
Enfim, eu não comi demais nem comprei nada, mantendo minha promessa de não comprar roupa por um ano.
Mas a semana da renda esté sendo um problema para mim, eu tenho muito pouca coisa em renda. Não tenho nada que seja completamente de renda (com exceção de lingerie, se voces quiserem ver um look meio sexy/pornô? hehehe)
Então eu realmente tive que procurar pelo meu armário ate achar algo para usar. E no fundo dele eu achei algo!
Se não, ia ter que fazer que nem a Mi e pedir emprestado!

Espero que você nao se importe com a minha cara de cansada, mas eu estou exausta depois dessa semana de trabalho. Foi como estar numa montanha russa a semana inteira, e não foi divertido.
